The Artist’s Statement

Since my earliest memories, the fey and mythical creatures have been an integral part of my daydreams, shaping my inner world. Creating characters allows me to explore my feelings and experiences from an objective, higher perspective. The influence of imaginative media from my past remains a steadfast inspiration, flowing through my hand onto paper, tablet, and ultimately, canvas.

When I hold a pencil, ideas flow like a river. My dry media art captures this energy, where mere squiggles on a page can transform into imaginative creations. For larger pieces, I delve deeper, developing new concepts that reflect the evolution of my thoughts and emotions. Working with mixed media invigorates my creativity, sparking excitement and spontaneity. Each piece becomes a unique expression, a “one of a kind” creation that will never be replicated.

In my art, I carry my younger self as a promise to never lose my imagination or abandon the childlike wonder within. It is an exploration of my childhood, where make-believe moments shaped who I am today. My hope is to reignite this sense of wonder in others who may have lost it along their own paths. Through my art, I invite everyone to rediscover the magic and enchantment that reside within us all.
